Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, admitting and discharging patients, filling some prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance. Receptionists/ Assistants will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the performance of their duties.
Skills: Highly motivated, confident, positive, individual with initiative and great interpersonal skills.
Experience: Minimum one-year experience working in a veterinary clinic or a graduate from an assistant program with working experience in animal handling. Avimark experience is an asset but not necessary for the right individual.
Education: Diploma from a Medical Office Assistant Program OR a combination of experience as a Veterinary Receptionist and high school diploma.

- Greeting clients.
- Weighing patients.
- Multi-tasking between answering the phones and assisting clients at the front desk.

- Occasionally, helping the veterinarian with the patient restraint.
