Dr. Victor Negrea

Dr. Victor Negrea has more than 24 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine. He loves animals and enjoys the medical and surgical challenges of our small-animal practice, managing them calmly and compassionately for both the patient and the client. He has a special interest in surgery, including orthopedics, as well as canine reproduction, internal medicine, and dentistry.

Dr. Negrea fully embraced the wonderful Canadian society when he moved from NW Romania to Canada three decades ago. After passing his Veterinary Licensing exams at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, ON, he marched along the Prairies with his family, moving from Winnipeg, MB, to St. Albert, AB, then to Cochrane, AB. He practiced small-animal medicine and canine reproduction at several clinics. His love for animals leads him to spend endless time at Beacon Pet Hospital caring for pets. In his spare time, he loves biking, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Veronika

Veronika has always had a natural connection with animals, which led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Veterinary Sciences in Brno, Czechia, and practiced for several years in Slovakia. While in Canada, she is in the process of getting her licence to practice Veterinary Medicine and continue pursuing her dream.

She joined Beacon Pet Hospital’s team as a veterinary technician, offering her love and care to our furry patients. Veronika is enjoying both the work and the West Coast lifestyle. Outside the clinic, she spends her time hiking, horseback riding, and exploring the Island with her partner and their rescue dog, Wurty.

   Kaysha

 Kaysha grew up on Vancouver Island, where she fell in love with the West Coast’s unique wildlife. This led her to pursue a degree in Biological Sciences at Simon Fraser University, focusing on cellular and animal physiology. Her love for animals brought her to Beacon Pet Hospital, where she works as a veterinary assistant while pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Kaysha is an alumna of SFU’s varsity swim team and loves teaching swim lessons, taking spin classes, and going on long hikes. In her spare time, you can find her with a cup of coffee reading her favourite book or watching her beta fish Kevin eat massive freeze-dried worms.

Lottie

Lottie is a second-year Biology student at UVic with a lifelong love for animals and a passion for their health and wellbeing. She loves working as a receptionist at Beacon Pet Hospital and getting to know the pets that come through the clinic while learning more about veterinary care. Her final dream is to attend veterinary school and become a veterinarian.

Victor

Victor is a young, ambitious and kind man who loves animals and is passionate about ovarian cancer research. He graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in Microbiology. He loves interacting with people and makes sure our clients’ needs are met. In his spare time, he volunteers at Saanich Peninsula Hospital as a social worker, helping elderly people however he can. Victor is amazed by the people he meets and their life stories.

Clara

Clara is currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria, bringing a passion for movement, health, and care to our team. A true lover of all things health and wellness, she balances her time between the vet clinic, volunteering at the VGH Neurosurgery Unit, and staying active outdoors. Clara loves meeting all your furry friends at work, and when home, she has her cat, Boots!
